The Beetle Dactyl

The Dor beetle is related to the scarab beetle, worshiped by the Ancient Egyptians, it was embodied by the God Khepri, who had a beetle head. Kapri was believed to roll the morning sun across the land each day and his name was written with the scarab hieroglyph. The scarab beetle is also known for rolling dung balls and burying the faeces into the earth, where they lay their eggs. This association with both the rising sun and of cleansing the earth became an associated symbol of the beetle of rejuvenation and renewal. The Beetle dactyl, like its predecessor plays a vital role of sustainability due to their cleansing diet of rotting organic matter. The beetle dactyl was developed to clean up damaged terrain and can digest harmful toxins and waste. Beetle dactyls are sent into space to clear and prepare the land for colonisation before settlements can be established and make the soil both habitable and fertile for farming. They are adept at maintaining pest control, while at the same time supporting the soil health so prove to be excellent self-sufficient farmers in the space colonies.
