An interactive mobile phone installation designed for urban screens and using bluetooth technology. Users control the avatar through their own body movement and interact with text messages sent via Bluetooth. They are able to upload and download graphic images. This artwork is designed to encourage urban play amongst people of all ages and aims to explore creative and interactive uses for the urban screens. The prototype was shown as part of the Future Sonic Festival. Bluetooth had limitations and was not appropriate for motion tracking due to the inconsistent nature of the signals. While Bluetooth could be used successfully for texting it was not very user friendly. This project lead to the development of a number of other projects, using motion tracking and Bluetooth technology.
