The seal people of Celtic mythology are often associated with romantic legends of mermaids and mermen of the sea, shedding their tails for romantic interludes on land under the moon. These include tales of merfolk feeling torn between land and sea, seeking to find their way back to the deep mysteries and fruits of the ocean. The Seal dactyl lives on the land and sea, and they are suited to our wetter climates and land flooded areas so can make a life between both spaces. Seal dactyls are excellent swimmers and are used for saving those at trouble in the sea. Like their Seal ancestors, they can navigate their way through the oceans and were developed for marine life including deep sea diving, fishing and farming. Their genetic engineering has enabled large-scale production of materials from seaweed which have replaced plastic. The seal dactyl is adept at holding its breath for long periods of time underwater. Much of the ocean bed has now been rebuilt, damaged by our ancestors by deep-sea trawling and pollution. The Seal Dactyls have rebuilt seaweed forests and coral reefs contributing to the shift to achieving a carbon neutral ecology.
