The Hare Dactyl

The Hare Dactyl was adapted to address increasing infertility caused by the use of harmful chemicals in farming and industry during the Anthropocene. Like their hare ancestor females can store embryos in their bodies until they are ready to incubate their young, supporting challenges of infertility faced by humans once they were ready to procreate as an alternative to fertility clinic storage, which is increasing challenging due to the instability of the power infrastructure as fossils fuels have become exhausted and weather events more extreme. Another genetic modification of the Hare Dactyl is the eyes, which are large to give good visibility at dawn and dusk once the burning sun has gone down and they can be active. Like their hare ancestor they can see in 360 degrees. This enables excellent visibility for maintaining high security in volatile conditions. As in ancient Celtic mythology the Hare Dactyl is often seen as a shape shifter and linked to the fairies and the underworld. This may be due to their underground habitats, which provide shelter from the intense heat, following the Epoch of the Great Warming.
