The Eagle Dactyl inhabits areas of the UK particularly the North and West of Caledonia (formerly known as Scotland) and with growing numbers in Southern Caledonia, cut off from the rest of the UK as a result of the big flood. They continue to survive across other parts of the globe but are flourishing in this more temperate climate. There are 500 breading pairs in Caledoniaand now there is an attempt to encourage population growth in Southern Caledonia where there are 46 pairs. Descended from the Apkallū captured in the wall engravings and figurines of the ancient Assyrians, this eagle headed being is believed to bring wellbeing to communities and effigies continue to be discovered hidden in cavities of buildings. The Eagle Dactyl has keen eyesight so that while hovering far above the sea it has a clarity of vision to see fish swimming below, which it can dive to catch at high speed. The physical strength of their huge wingspan has led to sightings from planes which they glide alongside, making movement between borders effortless. There is an armistice on this protected species by governments worldwide.
