The Ancient Egyptians worshipped the scarab beetle, symbolised by Khepri God of the morning sun whose name was written with the scarab hieroglyph. The scarab beetle is known for rolling dung balls into which they lay their eggs, and the rising sun each day bringing new life to the world became an associated symbol of the beetle. In Japan collecting beetles is popular and they are often kept as pets and pitted against each other in battle for this reason they are associated with youth, rejuvenation, innocence and purity. The Beetle dactyl, like its predecessor plays a vital role of sustainability due to their cleansing diet of rotting organic matter. The beetle dactyl was developed to clean up damaged terrain and can digest harmful toxins and waste. Beetle dactyls are sent into space to clear and prepare the land for colonisation before settlements can be established and make the soil both habitable and fertile for farming. They are adept at maintaining pest control, while at the same time supporting the soil health so prove to be excellent self-sufficient farmers in the space colonies.
